THE F.A.M.E. TEAM visited SA in 2016In 1946 The Fellowship of Hair Artists of Great Britain was founded, and over the years has grown in stature and is now recognised as The Fellowship for British Hairdressing. Covering aspects of the hairdressing industry including shows, educations and promoting artistic and creative quality. Events across the UK include masterclasses with top experts, as well as masterclasses with highly recognised mentors.A not-for-profit organisation, which is led by Council members who provide their expertise unpaid, The Fellowship for British Hairdressing strives for the best practice and represents the majority of premium salons in the UK through a membership programme. With the members reflecting a ‘who’s who’ of the industry with Past Presidents including Trevor Sorbie MBE, Errol Douglas MBE, Beverly C MBE, and in April this year Bruno Marc was welcomed as The President for the next two yearsThe Fellowship supports and encourages young talent through groups like ClubStar, Project X, Colour Project, and our infamous F.A.M.E. TeamThe Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence Is an annual initiative that was created to nurture, encourage and promote an elite group of young, up-and-coming hairdressers in all aspects of the industry. Offering unique exposure and a possible platform to future stardom and is the UK Hairdressings original and best independent launch vehicle for young creative stylists.Past members of this elite team include The Fellowships past President Errol Douglas MBE, as well as British Hairdresser of The Year Umberto Giannini and Jamie StevensAt our Luncheon and Awards in December 2015 the new F.A.M.E. Team for 2016 was announced after the talented four were selected by an esteemed judging panel made up of industry experts. This year they are in the experienced hands of Project Leader Antony Licata with opportunities including workshops and industry events, including workshops already with Adam Reed and Zoe Irwin.Project Leader Antony Licata is the UK Creative Director of Mahogany Hairdressing and has been a member of The Fellowship Council for 6 years. Working with The F.A.M.E. Team allows him to connect and share creative ideas with other hairdressers that don’t work within the Mahogany salons. Being able to work with The Team gives a different perspective and allows Antony the opportunity to help them grown in terms of education and ability.
JAMIE BENNY, RushJamie is Company Consultant for Rush and enjoys creating collections either for a photoshoot or for stage time. He loves the chance to create a story and then see it all come together.
MELISSA TIMPERLEY, SassoonMelissa is a Creative Stylist for Sassoon and is currently training to be Assistant Creative Director. She loves to see the confidence she can give someone by enhancing their look through someone she has created.
ROSIE BINNS, EthosRosie is currently Senior Creative Stylist for Ethos in Manchester. Rosie loves being part of the industry because she gets to be creative every day. She worked really hard to be part of The F.A.M.E. Team and it means the world to her.
ZOE WILLIAMS, Ken PictonZoe is currently a Director at Ken Picton salon in Wales and adores being able to part of the creative process of being able to plan a shape and see it evolve into the finish look. Being part of The F.A.M.E. Team is the opportunity for her to be the best hairdresser she can be and she is making the most of it every day!
